About us
Our mission at 1,2,3 ME! Dayhome is to create an environment that is developmentally appropriate that encourages learning through play. We carry this mission out by offering a range of open-ended materials as well as toys. To help further deepen their learning we plan activities based on their interest, needs & abilities. At 1,2,3, ME! Dayhome we value the natural curiosity of each child, we have a commitment to each family, the community, and celebrate our differences.
1,2,3, ME! Dayhome philosophy is based on the belief that children are natural learners who are deeply curious, that this curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and place within it. It is our responsibility to create an environment that not only is developmentally appropriate but also allows them to explore this curiosity and to challenge their thinking so that in turn they are not only able to create understanding but also set the foundation for lifelong learning. We understand the importance of play and that it is the foundation for children’s learning and that through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments and the understanding that others have different backgrounds and perspectives than themselves.
Our Team
1,2,3 ME! Dayhome is run by two individuals Saralyn Groom & Audrey Bergsma.
Hello!
My name is Saralyn Groom and I am one of the Educators at 1,2,3, ME! Dayhome. I have been working as an Early Childhood Educator for over the last decade with my education background in Child Development. I am committed to advocating for all children and providing a safe environment in which they feel free to explore, share and thrive. One of the ways O do this is by creating a respectful and developmentally appropriate environment that is child-led and encourages learning through play.
Hello!
I am Audrey Bergsma and I am the second Educator at 1,2,3, ME! Dayhome. I have privately cared for young children over the last 30 years including my own family of 5. Being able to watch each child grow and guide them as they learn not just about the world but also themselves is one of the greatest gifts in my life.
